So these are made from XPS.

I cut these down to a curvy shape because I wanted to make them layer-y.

Next use some nail polish to dissolve some of the foam. This gives a nice texture.

I wanted the protruding parts to look like there’s a layer of salt crystals and used some Vallejo Snow texture paste for that. For painting I used black, blue and grey and some mother-of-pearl.

These don’t look super great but it’s a start. I find rocks tricky, will have to practice more.
