This small project was inspired by The DM’s Craft on YouTube.

Howto

So what you are doing here is get a simple LED light that flickers like a natural candle. Then use tissue and thinned white glue to create a mound like shape around it. Once that is dried, you can add a texture paste on top or go for flocking / sand with glue.

I used hot glue to enhance the flame. Paint that with yellow ink.

Overall I’m not happy with the result. This looks very much like an LED candle still. Maybe you can get a better result but I prefer the other variant I tried. The idea is pretty great though; terrain pieces with flickering light should make for a great moody atmosphere.
